Role:
The Vice National Director is responsible for supporting the National Director on the daily running of Sexpression:UK, acting as their primary deputy when they are unavailable, overseeing internal transparency, safeguarding committee welfare, and serving as the administrative link to the Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities:
- Support the National Director in ensuring that Sexpression:UK’s Constitution, Bye Laws, and internal policies are upheld.
- Act as the point of contact if the National Director is unavailable for whatever reason. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Chairing OLMs when the National Director is unavailable
- Attending Trustee meetings when the National Director is unavailable
- Try as best as possible to look after each member’s welfare. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring members have sufficient capacity before receiving additional duties and reminding members that they are able to go Out of Office if they are struggling.
- Ensure the work of the National Committee is transparent to all members of Sexpression:UK. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Ensuring financial reports are emailed every quarter to branches and Trustees
- Ensuring branches and Trustees receive updates from the National Committee’s OLMs.
- Ensuring branches and Trustees receive Weekly Updates from the National Committee.
- Ensuring feedback from volunteers and externals that we work with are disseminated to all members.
- Act as an alternative contact when a National Committee member is Out of Office.
- Recruit extra personnel as sub-committee members where needed.
- The issue of strikes to the Branches if the National Committee reaches a consensus agreeing that a strike is required.
- Maintain a continuity log. This should include, but is not limited to, a log of:
- National Committee members
- Trustees
- Branches
- National Events (including Campaigns)
- Sit on sub-groups of the National Committee and Board of Trustees, such as strategy planning, when desired or requested to do so
- Act as a Secretary to the Board of Trustees, performing administrative tasks as detailed below
- Organise and attend quarterly meetings of the Board of Trustees
- Minute the meetings of the Board of Trustees and disseminate these to the Board and to the National Committee in the OLMs.
