Role:
The Communications Director works closely with the National Director and Vice National Director to maintain the professional image of Sexpression:UK. It is an administrative role that requires excellent organisational skills to keep up with all internal and external communications.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Sexpression:UK’s online presence
- You may choose to recruit Sexpression:UK’s Social Media Officers and work with them to achieve the duties of the role in relation to social media
- Manage Sexpression:UK’s social media accounts together with the Social Media Team and work to increase the audience and engagement
- Manage Sexpression:UK’s website. This includes, but is not limited to: responding to requests and messages that come through the communications form; updating National Committee and Trustee bios; updating the merchandise pages; and updating the blog page.
- Generate publicity materials for the charity and its events. This includes, but is not limited to, creating templates for campaigning content with the Campaigns Director and for branches to promote national awareness days and global events related to RSE.
- Provide the dates of key advocacy days at the start of the year in a calendar
- Circulate event packs for big events such as World AIDS Day, Transgender Day of Remembrance - write new ones if required
- Liaise with Branches and National Committee members to ensure that Sexpression:UK’s branding retains continuity and follows the principles outlined in the style guide
- Support Sexpression:UK’s Branches in their online presence and communications
- Ensure Branches have access to their official @sexpression.org.uk email accounts
- Together with the Branches Director, collate and record Branch social media login details
- Ensure Sexpression:UK’s communications agreement is upheld by Branches
- Organise email account access and asset packs for new Branches
- Provide internal communication support.
- Organise and minute the National Committee’s monthly OLMs.
- This includes reminding the National Committee to complete their actions a fortnight before the next OLM.
- This includes providing an overview of the OLM minutes to branches and the Trustees to maintain transparency across the charity.
- Organise and minute Branches Council meetings
- Organise these alongside the Branches Director
- This includes providing a summary of the minutes to the Branches, Trustees, and National Committee.
- Update and disseminate updated policies when amendments are made
- Oversee the recruitment process for National Committee members
- Work with the Branches Director to organise the Branches Council when National Committee members are elected.
- Organise recruitment campaigns for National Committee elections
- This includes, but is not limited to, posting on social media, updating the website to promote applications, monitoring applications, and creating the voting packs.
- This includes informing branches of their responsibilities to vote in the election.
- Website management
- Manage the [email protected] email address.
- Update the website on an ad-hoc basis. This includes, but is not limited to, updating National Committee members, Trustees, partners/affiliations, and the list of open branches.
